WHEN it comes to the brands we love, there’s no accounting for taste.
Now the 13th annual Reader’s Digest poll has revealed the brands Australian consumers hold dear, in every facet of life from banks to barbecues, tea to toilet tissue.
Overall, antiseptic brand Dettol was named the most trusted brand in the country, followed by Colgate, Dyson and Dulux. Band-aid, Parker Pens, Johnson & Johnson, Weber, Weet-Bix and Panadol made up the top 10 of Australian favourites, according to the survey which was based on rankings provided by more than 2,400 respondents.
Hills, home of the Hills Hoist was named the country’s most iconic brand, followed by Arnotts and Vegemite who were highly commended.
Reader’s Digest said trusted brands ensure their products are reliable, recognisable and useful.
“We also know that consumers are savvy at decoding brand messages and are quick to detect those that suit their lives and lifestyle over those that don’t. In uncertain times, it’s the brands that continue to offer quality and substance that continue to enjoy Australians’ trust.”
Toyota again topped the car category, while Vanish Napisan is the most trusted brand to clean clothes, Lipton tea makes the best cuppa, and if we have to do the vacuuming, we want to do it with a Dyson.
