Our Purpose

AACS (Australian Association of Convenience Stores) is the campaigning voice of more than 4,379 convenience stores with total annual transactions worth $16.5 billion. The industry employs  over 150,000 people (1 store for every 1,500 Australians. As the convenience store champion AACS supports its members through lobbying, advice on legislation and issues that affect retailers and suppliers, and through learning and networking events.

Membership of AACS comprises both retailers and suppliers, and the organisation prides itself on its ability to gather information and knowledge from the sector as a whole. This is then used to provide insight and practical help to benefit all members.

The core purpose of AACS is to lobby and champion the convenience store channel through strong leadership and good communication. AACS complements this by providing a range of services designed specifically for local shops to help them develop their businesses.

Run events that are relevant and valued by members: these include Awards Nights, Gala Dinners, breakfasts and lunches that provide innovative and inspirational speakers.

3. Provide relevant education services

Offer a wide range of professional services specifically tailored to meet member needs. These include industry forums, Study Tours and our Simulation training.

Provide opportunities for members to discuss issues that impact the convenience industry.
