Business have been urged to “bag” some information on their responsibilities under Queensland’s looming state-wide ban on light-weight plastic shopping bags, which will come into force from July next year.
The National Retail Association has worked with the State Government to develop an information portal, workshops and a hotline giving business owners all the information they need about their responsibilities under the new laws.
With the legislation providing for fines of up to $6095 per offence for providing the wrong bags after July 1, 2018, NRA Chief Executive Officer Dominique Lamb urged business to make themselves familiar with their responsibilities.
