Repealing the Carbon Tax. How this will benefit small business

The Government has delivered on its promise to repeal the carbon tax. On 17 July 2014, legislation repealing the carbon tax received Royal Assent with effect from 1 July 2014.
Why has the Government repealed the carbon tax?
Repealing the carbon tax will reduce cost of living pressures on households and cost pressures on businesses, including small businesses. Companies that were subject to the carbon tax typically will have passed on part or all of this cost to their customers, smaller businesses and households, which experienced higher prices as a result of the tax.
